Abstract art, kinetic art, op art and more from Latin America. PINTA New York, Nov. 11-13, 2011, brings 50 exhibitors to 7 West 34th Street in the fifth installment of the popular Latin American art fair. Seventeen galleries come from the U.S., five from Brazil and others from Spain, Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, Chile, Peru and Venezuela. Show director Diego Costa Peuser said that this year, PINTA strives to be “a boutique fair of the highest quality.” The show includes a special section of artists’ projects organized by Jacopo Crivelli Visconti, sponsored by Arcos Dorados.

PINTA itself is sponsored this year by MBA Lazard. The show is continuing its museum acquisitions program, for which it helps underwrite purchases of art from show exhibitors; museums invited to participate this year include the Bronx Museum, the Newark Museum, the Boston MFA and the Houston MFA. General admission to the fair is $25.
