From January 29, 2023 to February 5, 2023, the Huberty & Breyne gallery is pleased to participate in BRAFA, one of the oldest and one of the most prestigious art fairs in the world. The Brussels Art Fair is renowned for the quality of the works exhibited, from antiques to modern and contemporary art, including fine arts and design.
The Brafa takes place at Brussels Expo, an emblematic site on the Heysel plateau which is a legacy of the Brussels Universal Exhibitions of 1935 and 1958.
Thirteen years ago, Alain Huberty & Marc Breyne introduced comics to BRAFA for the first time, by unveiling the original cover of Hergé's Cigars of the Pharaoh.
For this new edition, the gallery presents a set of contemporary creations in dialogue, more or less markedly, with the world of comics. Unpublished original paintings, sculptures and boards are on display, illustrating the diversity and originality of these proposals at the frontier of the arts.
The artists honored this year are François Avril, Dominique Corbasson, Denis Deprez, Philippe Geluck, Jean-Claude Götting, Loustal and François Roca. A prestigious selection of classic comic book authors will also be presented.
