Richard Boigeol is a French artist born in 1959 who lives and works in Marseille, France. Richard Boigeol is an artist at heart, although music plays a central role in his life as in his work. He plays the piano and instruments make many appearances in his paintings. Therefore Laurie Verchomin, the wife of the great American pianist Bill Evans, contacted Boigeol to illustrate the book "The Big Love: Life & Death with Bill Evans".
