Timeline

1921: Born in Amsterdam, the Netherlands
1940 - 1943: Studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts, Amsterdam, The Netherlands
1948: Founds the Cobra Group
1950: Moved to Paris, France
1954: Received the UNESCO Prize at the Venice Biennale, Venice, Italy
1958: Became an internationally recognized artist
2006: Died in Zürich, Switzerland
