Megan Marden is a contemporary American painter. Her paintings' intimate scale and subject matter provide glimpses of quiet moments in contemporary, suburban life, emphasizing a spiritual need for periods of intense concentration and reflection. Marden's paintings celebrate tradition in artmaking. Influences including Vuillard, Corot, and Medieval tapestries are readily apparent. Born in 1984, she received a B.A. and M.F.A. in painting from Western Connecticut State University, with additional studies in drawing completed at The New York Studio School. She has most recently exhibited her work at The Oxbow Gallery in Northampton, MA, Blue Mountain Gallery, Prince Street Gallery and Bowery Gallery in New York. In 2019, she was a Four Pillars artist in residence at the Mount Gretna School of Art. She lives and works in Danbury, CT.
