Timeline

1957
Born in Semnan, Iran on the 30th July as the eldest of four children. His father is a school teacher and his mother a housewife. He spends most of his childhood curiously exploring the nearby bazar and the desert with his friends. From early on he feels a strong connection to nature and animals. The formative experiences from this period leave a strong impression on him, influencing his art in later years
1963
Elementary school in Semnan. His artistic talent is noticed and he is encouraged to participate in regional and national art competitions.
1971
Leaves Semnan against the wishes of his parents and without any financial support, in order to attend Art School (Honarestan) in Teheran. He succeeds in obtaining his High School Diploma, while financing himself by drawing miniatures for antique dealers and by restoring antique ceramics.
1974
Is accepted at the Art Academy in Teheran. At the same time he starts taking music lessons with Ostad Mohammad Reza Lotfi. Due to his musical talent he is strongly encouraged to solely concentrate on music. However he decides to continue both disciplines.
1979
Islamic Revolution of Iran.
1981
Universities are closed. Thus he concentrates more on his musical studies and discovers his interest in building music instruments, which he pursues with Ostad Kamalian and Ostad Eshghi.
1983
The Art Academy re-opens. He is expelled because of his non-conformist behavior. Thus he decides to become a professional music instrument builder.
1985
Decides to immigrate to Germany since he can neither follow the study of music nor art in Iran.
1986
Plays as a musician in the group Nava, touring Germany and Europe. His longing to paint make him look for possibilities to study art again.
1987
Studies Graphic Design at the School for Art and Design (Fachhochschule Kunst und Design) in Cologne. Here he discovers his interest for ceramics.
1988
Works as a painter and graphic designer.
1989
Is accepted at the Art Academy in Dusseldorf, choosing painting as his major topic.
1990
and 1991 Exhibition in gallery Rath, Cologne.
1992
Exhibition in gallery 68elf, Cologne.
