Bernard Minier (French, born )

Timeline

Born in 1952, Bernard Minier began his career as a professional photographer in a studio in Paris. Today, his photographs are used to illustrate specialised magazines, books and advertisements.
His preferred area of interest is the feminine mystique, capturing facial expressions and the language of the body. For the last ten years, he has also been training professionals to integrate images into their work, as well as teaching amateur photographers.
Since 2001, he has co-directed the European Nude Photography Festival that takes place annually in Arles, Provence.
More recently, in addition to his commercial activities, he has embarked on a personal study focused on the use of the human body as a conveyor of messages. His first series of photographs on this theme uses words inscribed on the human body evoking tatoo or graffiti. He is now exploring the way lighting can depict the movement of a paintbrush on the body.
Bernard lives in the heart of the Chevreuse valley in the former home and atelier of the painter Fernand Leger.
