Manfred Deix would have turned 75 on 22 February 2024. In honour of the exceptional artist and on the occasion of the new edition of the anniversary volume "Forever Deix", Gallery OstLicht, Marietta Deix and Carl Ueberreuter publishing invite you to the opening of the sales show DEIX LIVES ON! with accompanying book presentation on 30 November 2023. As a continuation of last year's successful DEIX IS ALIVE! exhibition, OstLicht will be showing further unique works, some of which have never been exhibited in public before, from 1 December 2023 to 13 January 2024, alongside beloved classics and lesser-known works from the pen of the sharp-witted caricaturist, graphic artist and author. The sketches, cartoons, watercolours, acrylic paintings and sculptures will be on sale as part of the soirée and exhibition, as will the volume "Forever Deix".
DEIX LIVES ON!
Due to the great success of DEIX IS ALIVE! last year, Marietta Deix and Gallery director Peter Coeln are once again presenting previously unknown gems by the unforgettable artist Manfred Deix with DEIX LIVES ON! The figures of the gifted observer Manfred Deix have even made it into the dictionary and are still regarded today as an extremely pronounced depiction of the abysses and peculiarities of the Austrian soul. The extent to which Deix's spirit lives on is demonstrated by the continuing topicality of his criticism of toxic masculinity rituals, xenophobia, sexism, bigotry, corruption and philistinism.

The reprint of the collector's edition brings together great drawings and pictures from four decades as well as unknown treasures such as Deix's first comic strips and picture stories, many photos from Marietta Deix's private archive and memories from friends and companions such as Lukas Resetarits, Elfriede Jelinek and Gottfried Helnwein.
