London
After residing in the City of London for 260 years, G&P moved to Beauchamp Place in 2012. During this time, London was the hub of the marine world and, as a result, our gallery supplied fine art to some of the most knowledgeable marine experts.

This month we are delighted to showcase an exhibition of Marine Masterpieces at Gladwell & Patterson on Beauchamp Place. Gladwell & Patterson has championed the world’s best marine painters throughout our prestigious history. The City of London was our home for over 260 years and during this time the City was the hub of the marine world whether through insurance or shipping. As a result, our gallery supplied fine art to some of the most knowledgeable marine experts in the world and therefore each painting had to be technically correct in every way. Our marine artists were required to display the intricate technical specifications of their subjects and illustrate each magnificent vessel in a variety of weather conditions. Derek Gardner, Montague Dawson and Roger Chapelet were masters of maritime art in the twentieth century and their work is defined by their inseparable attachment to the sea and the vessels that sail and have sailed in her. Belgian contemporary artist Ronny Moortgat’s lifelong passion for marine painting has resulted in some of the most spectacular and visually daring seascapes and marine battle scenes. Like the siren’s call, we hope these masterful marine paintings will lure you to Beauchamp Place this October where we will be delighted to welcome you.
