Our Fall 2023 Live Auction marked the final session of three landmark live auctions dedicated to a prestigious Toronto private collection of historical Canadian art, achieving more than $36 million and smashing 29 artist auction records, making it the highest-grossing private collection ever sold in Canadian auction history.
Cowley Abbott’s Private Sales with Peter Ohler provides an effective avenue for our growing community of clients to collect art outside the seasonal auction cycle. Peter’s career with leading Canadian art galleries and his private firm, Ohler’s Fine Art, has led him to represent the country’s notable collections and sell market-desirable artwork. In 2022, Ohler’s Fine Art was acquired by Cowley Abbott, with Peter joining the firm as the company’s Western Canada Representative, continuing his work in private sales while pursuing artwork for inclusion in Cowley Abbott’s live and online auctions.
