ABOUT THE WRAPPED MONUMENT TO VITTORIO EMANUELE II:
The monument to the king of Italy Vittorio Emanuele II, on Piazza del Duomo was wrapped with polypropylene fabric and red polypropylene rope, in the fall of 1970, in Milan, Italy. The fabric had been sewn beforehand according to patterns allowing ample folds. The wrapped monument could be seen from the center of the Galleria and at each extremity of the XIX-century grand vaulted pedestrian shopping passageway. The monument to Vittorio Emanuele II was projected in front of the late XIV-century-cathedral, the Duomo. All expenses were borne by the artists. The Wrapped Monument to Vittorio Emanuele II remained for two days.
Published and Printed by Ediciones Poligrafa, Barcelona. Photographed by Ugo Mulas.
